Nuova Abibes LPG Cremona is the largest LPG storage terminal in Northern Italy, and the third largest LPG terminal in Italy. Located 80km Southeast of Milan on the River Po.

Northern Italy is a hub of industry in Europe, with a high concentration of industrial activity.

Equipped with eight buried tanks, the terminal boasts a staggering 27,000 cubic meters capacity, enabling it to store massive quantities of LPG.

Plant is equipped with 10 loading / unloading bays for trucks and railcars over an area of over 55,000 square meters of property.

Located in the middle of the Padania plain, the coastal LPG storage facility uses the river Po as a convenient pathway to the sea.

Capacity

The terminal's total capacity is distributed among various areas: 18,000 cubic meters for the customs warehouse, 2,000 cubic meters for wholesale, 4,000 cubic meters for the train station, and 3,000 cubic meters for the port. This ensures that each area has the necessary space to operate efficiently.

About us

Nuova Abibes LPG terminal set for 2023 revamp after acquisition

The Nuova Abibes LPG terminal has a rich history dating back to 1991. Built with advanced technology and featuring a fleet of ten barges, the terminal was a hub of activity until its voluntary liquidation in 2013. However, in 2017 Nuova Bibes acquired the assets and is set to complete a major revamp by Q3 2023.

1991: The Nuova Abibes LPG terminal born as Abibes Spa in 1991 from the idea of its founder, Dott. Adriano Binda Beschi which wanted to create a coastal LPG storage in the middle of the Padania plain using the river Po as way of connection to the sea.
1991: The storage has been realized using the most advanced equipments and materials that the technoligy of 1991 was offering.
2009: A fleet of 10 barges was also built to serve as feeder of LPG for the storage. Barges has been used until 2009 to navigate between Rovigo and Cremona to supply LPG.

2013: In 2013 Abibes Spa has been put under voluntarly liquidation procedure by the former Owner.
2017: In 2017 Nuova Abibes completed the acquisition of the Abibes assets from the tribunal in Cremona and started a major revamping which is due to cmpletion by Q3 2023
2023: The sale of LPG will be resumed and a photovoltaic power plant with a total area of almost 4300 square meters will be installed. A feasibility study for this project has already been conducted.
2024: A new gas refueling station and building for the LPG filling carousel will be created, and cogeneration turbines will be installed. A feasibility study for this project has already been conducted.

The current state and future activity of the Nuova Abibes LPG terminal

Owned by Nuova Abibes s.r.l., the Terminal is fully equipped with all the necessary permissions and authorizations to carry out its activities related to the import, trade, and distribution of LPG.
